Completed in 2009, 5803 is a look into the future of green building.  This modern eco-friendly home was  a collaborative effort between Metro Green and Kaplan Thompson Architects.  The home was the first in Virginia to receive a LEED Platinum designation from the US Green Building Council and also received the Best Residential Project Award from the Virginia Sustainable Building Network for 2009.

4 Bedrooms
4.5 baths
Just under 4000 square feet of finished space

  • Integrated Design Team:  LEED Accredited Consultants (Fore Solutions), LEED Accredited Architects (Kaplan Thompson Architects), Landscape Designer with experience in native and drought tolerant landscaping (Marty Hays), Patty Shields, builder, and Green Rater, Kelly Gillespie
  • House location:  Infill development, convenient to mass transit and community services.

    • At least 90% of building materials, glues and finishes were low or no VOC 
    • House equipped with Energy Recovery Ventilator -  constant air exchange/filtration with fresh air.
