Not every consultation will result in a completed design build. Our phased approach allows you to make the correct decisions early on, maintaining control over your vision and costs.

Every project begins with a thorough understanding of what you want:

We then pair you a partner architect and manage the process from the beginning. This saves costs and ensures your aesthetic design integrates the best building science technologies. Your only heavy lifting here is answering our proven questionnaires to help clearly define your goals.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

CONCEPTUAL DESIGN

For a one modest flat fee, based on the size/nature of your project, our team will work on a quick turnaround to put together a sketch design and floor plan along with a conceptual budget and scope of work.

 

 

 

SCHEMATIC DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION PLANNING

budget For a fixed fee that can later be folded into a building contract, we work closely with you to revise the conceptual design and develop schematic drawings, 3-D modeling, elevations, energy models where appropriate, and a line itemed budget with construction timelines suitable for bank financing.

Key activities during this phase will include:

1) Improving the design aesthetics and house program to match your family needs and budget

2) Measuring the impact of design on energy efficiency, indoor comfort and day lighting, and making       design and/or system adjustments where necessary

3) Developing a critical path schedule for construction.

PERMIT PLANS AND CONSTRUCTION

After the building contract is completed, Metro Green finalizes construction plans for permitting, including any additional engineering, planning or energy modeling required. We file and manage all permitting for you, including any zoning issues that require special attention.

During construction, we schedule periodic conferences with you to review progress and make design decisions. At the end of the project, we perform a walkthrough with you to review your systems and how best to maintain them in the long term. After project completion, we remain available for consultation on your home’s performance to ensure that you are comfortable and that the house is operating optimally.
